Just like fashion, a trend can be super popular one year and then out of style the next. We’ve compiled a list of trends that are up-to-date yet will stand the test of time. Most of these are also easily interchangeable and inexpensive!

Cool Toned Paint Colors

Whether you are wanting to give your cabinets or walls a makeover, cool-muted colors are in! Cool tones are blues, grays, whites. If you choose to go with an Expresso color, this has been seen multiple times as used on accent walls! But more about brown shades later!

Hardware and Appliances

Stainless steel appliances are definitely the most requested for appliances, but black is also slowly rising in popularity. Brushed nickel and silvers are most popular for hardware over gold or brassy shades.

Bronze, Bronze, Bronze

Urbane Bronze is actually Sherwin Williams’s color of the year! 

Deep browns and this shade of bronze are leaning more towards cool tones and are a bit much to paint a whole room but an accent wall in this shade would be stunning! Using this color in kitchens or hardware for any room would be perfect.

Natural Decor

Sustainable and natural items are popular for decorating the home this year. 

Items like greenery, wheat stocks, jute, glassware, stones, and hardwood are easy items to decorate with and match your existing paint colors. Adding organic pieces to your home can look simple yet oh so elegant!

Mid-Century Modern

Using geometric shapes, clean lines and tapered legs are making a comeback.

These loud and bold shapes can catch the eye and draw attention. Using an antique mid-century queen’s chair in your foyer is an example. You could also tie in this look into your kitchen with a geometric backsplash.
