How to Organize a Wreath Making Craft Room
If you’ve spent any amount of time around my neck of Internetland, then you know that I absolutely love making wreaths. I’ve been doing it for quite some time, which also means that I’ve had to learn a thing or two about how to organize a wreath-making craft room. When you check out my YouTube videos, you’ll notice that I have a designated space for making my wreaths, and making sure everything is intact is super important.
How My Craft Room is Setup
About five years ago, I did a walkthrough of the craft room I had at the time. You can find that video here, but in the meantime, here’s a breakdown of how I set it up and kept everything organized.
For the most part, I use bins for bulky embellishments, show racks for ribbon, drawers, and chest for mesh, and a shoe rack with a bottom for florals. I set these up according to what will be stored on them and try to keep everything in a set space. For example, my show racks are all put together so my ribbon rolls are kept together.
My bins are kept together in a cubicle-style bookcase and are primarily used as a miscellaneous and catch-all for leftover supplies or things that I don’t typically keep in bulk.

As always, you’ll want to keep in mind the space you have to work with. Even the smallest craft room spaces can be used to create something that will hold everything you have. Below are a few of my top picks that are perfect for wreath-making craft spaces:
- A work table – some of the most popular are chef’s tables because they are big, an l-shaped table, or furniture pieces from IKEA.
- Drawers – these can also be considered bins or totes and are primarily used for holding smaller supplies like scissors, florist wire, bow makers, extra glue, and more.
- Tiered tray organizers – these are perfect for keeping your next project items together as well as other tools like tape, sticky notes, pens, and the like.
- Trash cans – having multiple of these on hand can be very beneficial.
- Hanging grid wall – this is a wreath-maker’s best friend, especially when you need a place to hang your finished wreaths.
- Extra supply storage – perfect for all the extras that you purchase or accumulate from having things left over.
Think of your craft room in terms of “stations.”
When you think of your craft room in terms of stations, it will help you picture where you want to put your organization solutions. What items do you use together but like them stored separately? With this in mind, you’ll most likely want to store your floral wire, cutters, and tape in close proximity to where you store your faux flowers.
Having like-items or most-used items together will also help you be more effective when making your wreaths and other decor projects.
Have an organization system in place.
This may sound a little elementary, but the truth of the matter is, it’s really easy for wreath-making craft rooms to get cluttered and supplies get lost. This ends up costing your more money in the end because it seems easier to buy another supply versus look for the one that’s lost.
To keep this from happening, put a few systems in place. One of the top should be a clean-up system. Get into the habit of cleaning up after every craft project that you do. No matter what, don’t leave your craft area until it is cleaned.
Another practical system to implement is to give everything a specific space. This is where having color coordination and labels comes in handy. Label everything so you can easily put it away and/or know where things are when you need them.
